(We all face difficult situations that involve the people
we love. In some of these situations the wise course
of action may not be clear. We may feel a heavy burden
to act but have no idea what to do)

Á˾ǿ¡ ºüÁ® ÀÖÀ½À» ¾Æ½Ã°í ¸êÇϽ÷Á´Â Àǵµ¸¦ ¾Ë·Á Áּ̱⠶§¹®ÀÌ´Ù. ¾Æºê¶óÇÔÀº Á¶Ä«
·ÔÀÌ °Å±â¿¡ »ì°í ÀÖ¾î¼ ±×µéÀÇ »ý»ç¿¡ ´ëÇؼ °ü½ÉÀ» °®°Ô µÇ¾ú´Ù.
(Abraham found himself in such a situation. The Lord
had Abraham that he intended to destroy the people of
Sodom and Gomorrah for their wickedness. Since Abraham's
nephew Lot lived among the people of these cities, Abraham
was concerned for their welfare)

(So Abraham approached God and said, "Will you
destroy both innocent and guilty alike?" Suppose
you find 50 innocent people there within the city -
will you still destroy it, and not spare it for their
sakes? Surely you wouldn't do such a thing, destroying
the innocent with the guilty.... Surely you wouldn't
do that! Should not the judge of all the earth do what
is right?)

(The bargaining went on - Suppose there are only 45...
40... 30... 20... 10...? Finally God said, "Then,
for the sake of the ten, I will not destroy it")

Á÷¸éÇÑ »óȲ¿¡ ´ëÇؼ ¾îÂîÇØ¾ß ÇÒ¹Ù¸¦ Àß ¸ô¶ú°í, ½ÉÁö¾î´Â ±× »óȲ¿¡ ¹«¾ùÀÌ ¿ÇÀº
Áöµµ ¸ô¶ú´Ù. ±×´Â Çϳª´Ô²² °è¼Ó ÀÌÀ¯¸¦ ´ë¸é¼
ÀÚ½ÅÀÌ ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ´Â ¸»µéÀ» ÀçÂ÷ ½Ãµµ Çß´Ù.
(Abraham wasn't sure what he could do in that situation
he faced - he wasn't even sure what was right in this
situation. He talked it over with God, reasoning it
out, trying to do whatever he could)
¿ì¸®µéµµ ¾ó¸¶³ª ¸¹Àº º¯È¸¦ ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ°í ÇØ¾ß ÇÏ´ÂÁö¸¦
Àß ¸ð¸¦ ¶§¿¡´Â ¾Æºê¶óÇÔó·³ Çϳª´Ô²² ÀÚ²Ù¸¸ ¾Æ·Ú¾î¼
¿ì¸®µéÀÌ È®½ÇÈ÷ ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ´Ù´Â ´À³¦ÀÌ µé ¶§±îÁö Æò¿Â±âµµ¸¦
ÅëÇؼ ½ÃµµÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ´Ù.
(When we don't know how much of a change we can or even
should make, we can start by talking it over with God
like Abraham. Then we can try to do as much as we feel
confident doing through praying of the Serenity Prayer)
